Sigmatech's Space Enterprise Division opened NSSI West, a new training facility in Colorado Springs supporting the National Security Space Institute contract. Located near Peterson-Schriever Garrison Space Force Base, this commercial off-base facility expands DoD space professional education.
Purpose & Capacity
The facility enables instruction in orbital warfare, space targeting, and space domain awareness. It is designed to accommodate more than 2,500 additional students annually.
Location
Positioned less than three miles from the main NSSI campus on the Space Force base, the unclassified classroom provides flexible teaching space for various course formats.
Early Operations
The facility already hosted the Coalition Space Course in February 2022, with 13 students from multiple nations including Japan, Canada, and various U.S. military branches.
Staffing
NSSI West employs contract instructors and IT support personnel alongside existing teams. The main NSSI campus remains at the Moorman Space Education and Training Center on the garrison, housing classrooms, simulation labs, and modern distance learning infrastructure.
