DoD SkillBridge Program

Sigmatech joins the DoD SkillBridge Program to help transitioning Service members gain civilian work experience — extending a track record that has built a 57% veteran workforce.

·December 2, 2022

Huntsville, AL — Dec 2, 2022: Sigmatech, a government contracting, program management, and management consulting service company, announced its participation in the DoD SkillBridge Program.

The company has received authorization from the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense through an official Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate with military branches and installation commanders in developing SkillBridge training programs.

Program Overview

The DoD SkillBridge initiative enables Service members to acquire civilian work experience during their final 180 days of service through industry-specific training, apprenticeships, or internships. The program facilitates connections between departing military personnel and private sector employers offering real-world job opportunities.

Sigmatech's Commitment

Jessica Navan, Sigmatech's Human Resources Generalist, highlighted the company's veteran-focused mission: "We have a 57% veteran workforce at Sigmatech. Given our company's track record on hiring veterans, and the difficulty some Service members experience in transitioning to a commercial work force, this program is a great way to support the veteran community while also potentially adding experienced members to our team."

How to Participate

Service members interested in the program should contact their installation's SkillBridge point of contact or visit skillbridge.osd.mil/contacts.htm for additional information.
